Mention AI to a business owner, and you’re likely to hit a nerve. For some, the response is jaded, tired of the oversell. For others, it’s open to innovation and efficiency. Launching Square AI in the UK, we chose to say it straight. The conversational assistant was a practical tool, not some hype machine. As the lead copywriter, I crafted campaign headlines, paid social and display copy. The product launched in Q1 2026 with a rollout at the Outernet in London. Business leads, press, sellers and Jack Dorsey patched in for the event, which featured an operator panel, live product demo and fireside chat with British restaurateur Nisha Katona. After the event, Square saw a +129% increase in users and millions of pounds added to the sales pipeline.
